"I built my automatic driveway gate with a Wire-Matic™ 255, the predecessor to your Power MIG® 255. I particularly enjoy this project when I get home from work in pouring rain. The receiver and gate controller are inside the 6" square tube column, but the gel-cell battery wouldn't quite fit so I put it in an ammo box (visible in the lower left corner). I included a pedestrian access door on the outermost end and have found this to be a surprisingly useful feature, since it can be opened from either side (outside has a lock). The 2" square tubing I used for the gate resulted in a surprisingly light and rigid frame. This project has served me flawlessly since the day it was completed."
