Construction Productivity: Lagging Behind HUGE Manufacturing Industry Gains  

Over the past 20 years, manufacturing industry productivity dramatically rose. During the same period, construction industry productivity actually declined. Residential Sector Leads September Construction Jobs Gains

Per the Associated Builders and Contractors review of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data, 23,000 new construction jobs were added in September after a 5000 job loss in August. However, only 2700 were non-residential as all of the other gains were in the residential sector. The heavy and civil engineering sector added 4300 jobs after losing 23,200 jobs over the previous five months. MORE
