Electric Boat Partners with Legislators to Open Marine Trades Career Program

General Dynamics Electric Boat division partnered with Local, State and Federal legislators to open the Marine Trades Career and Technical Education program at Toll Gate High School in Warwick, Rhode Island. Electric Boat has also agreed to open programs at four additional CTE locations. The goal is to develop skilled students for high-wage jobs at Electric Boat and other companies. For example, EB’s Quonset Point facility currently employs 3,500 workers. The company expects to employ more than 5,500 workers by the end of the 2020s. MORE

Another High School Sets Up a Dual Credit Program with Local Community College

One of the hot trends over the last 12 months is the reinstatement or expansion of high school welding programs. Here’s a story about Bunker Hill High in Claremont, North Carolina opening a new welding lab for an initial 32 students. The dual credit program is a partnership between Catawba County Schools and Catawba Valley Community College.
