CLEVELAND - Earlier this year, Lincoln Electric became the first welding manufacturer to adopt the latest mobile technology by adding 2D Microsoft® Tag codes to its machines. The Company’s goal is to create useful content that welders can access on their devices whether they’re in the garage or at the jobsite.
With this in mind, they have decided to create a promotion surrounding Microsoft® Tags at FABTECH 2011.
How to Participate
Attendees should download the free Microsoft® Tag Reader app by visiting www.gettag.mobi on their smartphone, or by searching “Microsoft Tag” in their app store.
Once at the Lincoln Electric booth, the promotion can be completed in three easy steps:
- Scan the 5 Tags located at the Lincoln Electric subsidiary displays to learn more about a featured product.
- Take note of the red code letter at the bottom of each page. After scanning all 5 Tags, the letters will spell a code word.
- At the 5th and final Tag location (Arc Products), attendees will complete the mobile entry form, making sure to choose the correct code word.
Prizes
Each participant who completes the Mobile Tag Tour will receive a gift case filled with items from each company.
Additionally, four participants will be randomly selected to win a VIP weekend getaway for two, to a NASCAR®, INDYCAR®, AeroShell® or PBR® event.
Attendees who do not have a smartphone can still enter to win a VIP trip by swiping their ID badge at the main info desk.
