Hay Bale Handler

Michael Mohring of Denton, Texas had a problem moving round bales of hay so he fabricated this bale handler using his Lincoln Electric POWER MIG® 255C (current model is POWER MIG® 256) and .045 inch diameter Lincoln Electric Innershield® flux-cored wire.
He used 3-inch x 2-inch x .188-inch thick rectangular structural tubing for the frame; the bottom joints were mitered and the rest were butt joints. The frame was powder coated to protect it from the elements.
The large spear is 48-inches long. The short spear is 17-inches long and is used to stabilize the bale and keep it from spinning. The spears are easily removable for storage.
With completion of the project, Michael can now spear the hay bales and safely set them with less effort.
