Three Madison Welding and Technology (Mansfield, OH) students - Kyle Penhorwood, Travis Lantz, and Donovan Thacker - have left their mark on their alma mater. The giant metal ram was unveiled last fall during the school's Homecoming football game. The project unofficially began when the three decided to tackle the project in the spring of their junior year. It quickly developed into a passion as faculty members including Matt Godsil, art teacher, and Richard Morehouse, welding instructor, provided support.
The ram was fabricated using scrap product from the welding and cutting programs at the school along with donations by local fabricators. Several Lincoln Electric products were used: SP-125 Plus, Power MIG® 255 and SuperArc® L-56 MIG wire.
