"The owner of a water control and excavation business needed an innovative tool for creating trenches to accommodate the standard flexible piping plus gravel that he uses for wet location drainage that would be easy to use plus save time and labor. I designed and built this trenching attachment, customized for his excavator. The real beauty of this tool is that it gives him the ability to easily trench within contact range of structures, patios, shrubbery, etc., a task that previously required labor intensive pick and shovel work. An added bonus is greatly reduced cleanup and landscape repair at the jobsite compared to his previous trenching method, using a 1 ft. bucket.
"The trencher is constructed of 1/4 in. angle, 3/8 in. I-beam and 3/8 in. and 1/2 in. plate steel. My Lincoln PRO-MIG 175 proved more than up to the task, providing smooth wire and arc delivery with no trouble whatsoever."
*The above project images and descriptions have been published to show how individuals used their ingenuity for their own needs, convenience and enjoyment. Only limited details are available and the projects have NOT been engineered by the Lincoln Electric Company. Therefore, when you use the ideas for projects of your own, you must develop your own details and plans and the safety and performance of your work is your responsibility.
