Blue Max® 309LMo_MOD

MIG (GMAW)

CLASSIFICATIONS:
ISO 14343 : 23 12 2 L

Designed for dissimilar weld between stainless steels to mild and low alloys

DETAILS

Blue Max® MIG wire is designed to perform exceptionally at high wire feed speeds

Features

  • Similar to 309L with the exception for the addition of 2.0 - 3.0% molybdenum to increase its pitting corrosion resistance in halide-containing environments
  • Surfacing (buffer layer) of base metals to improve their resistance to corrosion
  • Used to achieve a single-layer overlay with a chemical composition similar to that of a 316L stainless steel

Typical Applications

  • General Fabrication
  • Process Industries
  • Used for the first layer of multiple-layer overlays with filler metals such as 316L or 317L stainless steel

Welding Positions

  • All

Shielding Gas

  • 98% Ar/ 2% O2
