In this one-week course, trainees will learn how to weld in replacement lacings for lattice-type booms on crawler cranes in the 350 metric ton class and above, and for all-terrain cranes and rough-terrain crane jibs. They will also receive the knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to pass a welder's qualification test per the ISO 9606-1 standard.
This course is specific for Liebherr customers. Using the SMAW process, attendees will complete the following welds:
• Fillet weld pipe/plate material S960QL and S770QL
• Groove weld tube/tube materials S770QL
Required PPE and tools needed for the class: welding hood, lenses, leather gloves, safety glasses with side shields, long sleeve cotton shirts, long pants and steel-toed shoes must be worn at all times within the school. Power tools, chipping hammers, wire brushes, pliers, and jackets will be provided. (Absolutely no shorts permitted).
